What is Cenote Part 3 – Diving and Snorkeling into the Cenotes

You can also read Part 1 and Part 2 What is a Cenote? In ancient times, they were a source of this vital liquid, sweet water. Later Cenotes of the Tulum area became sities of worship for the Mayas, the mother civilzation of the region known as Riviera Maya located in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.

Today they stir up a sense of adventure for visitors from all around the world who the plunge into the cenotes refreshing waters. Cenotes comprise a one of a kind ecosystem and only can be found in Mexico, trough fragile and vulnerable they need to be protected.
